TGF has good experience in working with central and local government clients in advertising, communications, brand development and strategy. Before TGF was even formed, our creative director, business director and one of our favourite freelance designers worked for many years on the Electoral Commission's iconic "Orange Guy" platform, informing, motivating and sometimes entertaining Kiwi voters through advertising, social media and events.

Auckland Council is New Zealand's biggest, so advertising that changes how people treat the environment can have a big impact. We worked with the council's environmental team on a major project to create a research-led brand strategy that formed the foundation for their entire low-carbon communications platform, "live lightly."

"Clean below, good to go" is a cheeky, simple slogan with a lot of thinking behind it. A coalition of upper North Island councils wanted a marine biosecurity advertising and communications platform to tell boaties how to avoid the spread of marine pests when they sailed between marinas. We met with boaties in Auckland and Whangārei, understood what would work and created a local government advertising platform that's been helping keep our marine environment cleaner for five years.

Palmerston North City Council runs Palmy Venues – a collection of conference and event venues used by groups from corporates to communities. We worked with this council owned organisation to create a distinctive, compelling campaign to attract bookings and raise the profile of their unique conference offering.
